Minimum Wage Raise Passes House, Must Get Through Senate Next
The U.S. House of Representatives voted today to increase the federal minimum wage to $7.25 per hour, from its current level of $5.15 per hour. The wage raise will take place in stages, until reaching $7.25 in a little more than two years from now.
Let Justice Roll, a coalition of faith groups in support of the minimum wage, put out a press release that shows the breadth and depth of religious support for a minimum wage increase. The next step is for the Senate to vote on its own minimum wage increase legislation.
