VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Creating a Handbook for Justice-Centered Worship Services

Promise the Children representatives have lead worship services at many Unitarian Universalist churches in Massachusetts. These services have helped us raise awareness of the issues facing young people. We have so much enjoyed sharing worships that we’ve decided to assist others, particularly lay leaders, in creating vibrant worships in their congregations.

Please join us as we create a Promise the Children handbook for worship. This handbook guide laypeople in creating worship services to raise awareness of issues facing children and youth.

If you have experience as a worship leader (lay or ordained) and can contribute, please e-mail PromiseTheChildren[at]gmail.com

We welcome written submissions, including the following:

-Readings, prayers, songs, rituals, and other worship components. Whether it’s written by you, or by your favorite author, send it our way!

-General advice on planning a justice-centered worship service

-Accounts of success stories and lessons learned in past worship services.

We welcome contributions from diverse communities and theological traditions.

All contributors whose material is published will be acknowledged and thanked in the handbook.

Please contact our national organizer (PromiseTheChildren[at]gmail.com) to be a part of this project!
